How Can I Join You?

St. Paul's in a open, inclusive, diverse and welcoming congregation living into our mission of worshiping God, learning compassion and building community. Our church is urban, yet our congregation comes from the country, small towns, and suburbs as well as from the city. Our congregation is rich and poor, and somewhere in the middle.

We are professionals, day laborers and unemployed. We are gay and straight. We are large families and families of one. We are liberal and conservative, Republicans and Democrats and everything in between. We are life-long Episcopalians and "converts". We are faithful. We are doubters. We are skeptics, we are believers. We are marvelous in God's eyes, and yet we make mistakes. We pray together, laugh together, struggle together, cry together and journey together.

No matter who you are or where you've been, there is a place for you in God's house, at God's table and at St. Paul's Cathedral. All of our worship services are open to all.

You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you'd like. We invite everyone to come to God's Holy Table, and if you are baptized, to share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. If you'd prefer a blessing, rather than the sacrament, you may come forward to the altar rail to receive a blessing.

Participation in the life of the Cathedral is not limited to "members". However, should you desire to become a member, we can speak with you about being Baptized, or about officially recording your Baptism in our books. You then may want to consider the sacrament of Confirmation, Reception or Reaffirmation in the Church.

Members also receive information about supporting the parish with their time, talents and treasure. Any one, regardless of membership can contribute financially to the parish. Our annual budget is based on a yearly "pledge" system. You may contact the church office offices@saintpaulscathedral.org to request a pledge card.
